Interesting. My son got a nice signing bonus but I see no problem with first year pay of 30K with increases if you stick around for a few years.

They took free agency away from college seniors, not sure if they would give it to HS players but I could see the possibility, maybe.

What I like about Boras and other agents like him, is that they place an importance of education and attending college if you do not get what you are worth on the market. His own player was recetnly drafted late round, but he sent his son off to college to get educated and improve for a better opportunity. And we know it wasn't about money.

The international draft is ridiculous, paying 16 year olds millions of dollars when they have YEARS of development in front of them and cannot even come here permently to play until they reach a certain age.

I also like the part about fewer kids being deceived about what the chances are to make it.
I think the proposal has universal applicationsSmile

If my office could draft a new accountants out of college under a slotting system for 30k for the 1st three years, instead of the 50k we currently pay, I'd be excited abut the upcoming tax season. As an added benefit, for CPA firms located in Barstow, they'll be able to tie up a kid from UCLA for three years, allowing them to staff thier office and compete "fairly" with those big LA accounting firms.
intersting concept. The "consensus picks" need a bit of work - and the disparity between the two top tiers would lead to potential conflicts of interest and vote buying scenarios.

Alot of interesing stories in each round currently, real life drama for sure. Some mid rounders getting 2x the money as others, and kids that reject million dollar deals; and there's always those that reject an offer and sink multiple rounds lower later on. Compared to the vast amjority of us - those are the lucky ones.Smile
