If this story isn’t an indictment of youth baseball I don’t know what it’s gonna take. The baseball IQ of HS (and younger) players is at an all time low. Knowledge of the game is just as important as skill level -maybe more. But kids aren’t concerned about knowing how to play the game. They are concerned with personal records, bat flips, talking sh$t, social media posts, and disrespecting their opponents. And people (like me) that try to minimize and correct the ridiculous antics, and lack of knowledge, get blowback from the “let the kids have fun” group which is made up almost completely of people that never played baseball at a respectable level. It wouldn’t shock me if some crazy parent tries to challenge the outcome of that game because their child is upset about it.
