This was an unbelievable venue. First class tournament, unbelievable field and facility, awesome people, and the weather was enough to make me want to move to Salt Lake City.
We beat Danville Hoots, Utah Bucks, So Cal Renegades, and Cherry Creek.
We lost to So Cal Renegades and Utah Marshals.
I believe Utah Marshals won the tournament. They were a very physical team and played well all week.
Chad Shepard ran as good of a tournament as there is in the country. I'd compare it to a Farmington type atmosphere with less attendance in it's infancy. No doubt this thing will turn into something very special. By far, the best playing surface I've ever seen for this level. I'm talking big league. The stadium was nice and cozy too and our parents seemed to love it.
Recipe for a quality tournament...
Limited quality teams (8-10 max) with good people involved. Play at 1 or 2 locations max. First class facility with people that take pride in their place with a welcoming staff.
As long as I coach a 17/18 year old team we will be at this event year in and year out.
