Esposito has a couple of HR's, hits well, runs well, has a live arm, the best player in the state. I am sure other players will have better stats but the fact remains that he is the best player in the state.
Vandy bound but draft awaits for Esposito, IMO.
However, there are players from CT goign to the ACC, SEC, Atlantic 10,Big East all over so the group as a whole is pretty strong.
Can't rule out guys from the smaller schools. Chris Walker, from HB, and Larry Longo, from Derryfield are outstanding ballplayers.

Also can't rule out the possibility that the powers that be may decide we don't have a POY again this year.

In Rhode Island, Ryan Westmoreland won last year as a junior. Anyone know if Westie can win twice?

How is Esposito doing this year?

Those stats for Gandossy are pretty impressive

Hows Springer hitting?

Bazdanes how many games has he pitched? 1-0 with 21 k's? did he get a ND? If he continues to pitch like that I don't see why he wouldn't get it.

Hard Hitter, Have you seen Gandossy play this year?

No, I live about a half hour from where he goes to school..I think they have a game closer to where I live in a couple weeks..What about you?

Ah, I hear good things about that showcase..You think he has a chance to get drafted? I'd say he has the best shot for lower Fairfield County..I think from New Haven above this year for baseball is stronger.

i don't know the answer to that question. Honestly, I saw the Zunino kid at Sunshine East last June and none of the catchers at PG Wareham were even close to that kid. Of course that may be a very unfair comparison since PG has him rated #3 in the Class of 2009!
Hey everyone I just wanted to name a ballplayer I've seen in CT. My son plays at Platt High School in Meriden and we recently played Bristol Eastern.Eastern's SS is an absolute stud.He has to go 6'2, 6'3 very smooth hands and probably the best arm across the diamond I've seen at that age.My son talked to him when he was at 2nd base and the kid was unsure of where he was goin. At the plate parents told me he has trouble but the game we played he ripped everything. There was about 3-4 scouts behind home plate im guessing taking a look at this kid. I was so impressed I went to see him again with my son and he went 4-5 with two bombs and is arm looked even stronger!! Guessing he can probably bring it on the mound to. Thanks and try and take a look at this kid last name is Anderson, not sure of his first.I'll try and get more info, unsure of his numbers for the POY award though.
Here’s a report on Brett Anderson

Brett Anderson is a 2008 SS/3B from Bristol Eastern HS, residing in Bristol, Connecticut, with a 6'2"/170 pound frame. Brett has a lean and athletic frame. He hits from a slightly open stance with high hands. Anderson has good bat speed and quick hands. He has a line drive swing plane and will continue to get better as he continues to face better pitching. Brett has a very strong arm across the infield at 91 mph with great carry. He has soft hands with a quick transfer and solid range defensively. Anderson went on the mound as well. He has long arm action with good arm speed. He showed an 84 mph fastball with arm side run and raw mechanics. Brett does not normally pitch but with a 91 mph arm across the infield it might not be a bad idea. He is a good student.

We graded him a very high 9.5 and he is currently ranked #344 in the nation by pgcrosschecker.

His strengths include a very strong arm, good actions and hands along with a lot of potential..
Areas to improve include running speed.
His ceiling will be determined by how well he progresses as a hitter.
He also could develop greatly as a pitcher.

I think he is committed to Franklin Pierce

Divison 2 powerhouse isn't too bad either, probably compares to soem Division 1's maybe.Hard Hitter his stats are a good question.I'm guessing well above .400 with some power numbers and great defensive stats as well.I wish him the best of luck, great ballplayer and tremendous future.Any other players of Anderson's caliber in the state this year?

Esposito, Jolin, Springer, Hewitt, Dwyer, Gandossy, Cooper, but out of those 7, 4 of them go to Prep Schools
