Hi, i'm new to HSBBWeb. I'm a sophmore from New York, and just finished up my JV Season. I'm a first baseman, 6' 3'' and 230lbs. I'm a pretty good fielder and can hit for power as well as average, .350 - .400, although I don't have much speed. My question is how difficult it probobly would be for myself to eventually walk on at a DII or DIII school? And what could I do to prepare myself for this? As I said, I just finished up my JV season, and am looking to join a team in the fall, just to get my reps before varsity season starts up next year. I'm just curious to any information that you all could give me about walking on at smaller schools, given my information. Thanks alot in advance.

Obviously at many DII and DIII schools academics are a top priority and they have to be NUMERO UNO with you. Being a big guy, make sure you make yourself into the best athlete you can be. Nothing beats a big guy who can also bring solid defense to the table. Plyometrics will help with your agility and explosiveness (big in baseball). I'm going to assume that you are a 1st or 3rd baseman, so work on having soft hands and being able to make a nice pick look routine. Good luck!
