I know the facilities are off campus in Panthersville which isn't terribly close by (the result of having an inner-city campus with limited access to land.) It's a decent facility, but the remote location means driving/bussing to practices, and limited fan-base. They do have really nice workout facilities on campus, and some new dorms. (Residential living is a fairly new concept for GA State, which until recently had no on-campus dorms. Closest was the Olympic Village dorms near the GA Tech campus a bit more than 1 mile away.)

Our high school coach pitched for the Panthers and speaks highly of his experience, but I don't know how his would compare to current conditions.
I know the recruiting coordinator very well, having worked with him in the past. He does a very good job, as evidenced by the fact that he was in the Chicago area last week recruiting. I have not been to the campus, so have no input there, but I do think the combination of playing in the Atlanta area, the CAA, and the hard work that will be put in by the coaching staff makes it a desirable place to play.
The players are housed in the old Olympic village apartments; two bedrooms, kitchen, living area and one bath. They are right next to the campus, not nearer to Ga Tech. I believe they are planning to build a stadium at Panthersville (which is remote), but I have no idea of the schedule.

The downtown location is a mixed blessing. Atlanta is an interesting city, but the players encounter rather more street people than the average baseball Mom would like Roll Eyes.

Support for the team is good --- tutors, mentors, workout facilities, etc. We were pleased with the coaching staff overall, and the family atmosphere of the games. Frady does tend to recruit further afield than just Georgia (particularly given his association with international baseball) and is working hard to improve the team. There not being a football team associated with the school puts the baseball team in a better position financially.

It's a mid-level D1, although GSU players have signed pro contracts both years my son was there, as have a number of guys around the conference --- which was well-scouted overall.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.
