A sad day as I love this site - lots of great info & people here.
Thanks to Bob for all the time, effort & money he put into keeping this site going.

HSBBW has become a big part of my life - I have enjoyed and learned from this place and will miss it immensely.

I am not sure I could get through a day without logging into this site. The knowledge I have gained is more than I ever expected.

You guys/gals are demonstrating who you truly are by posting your e-mails and that is why I am truly humbled to be a member of this wonderful and often times magical community. These are the type of unselfish gestures that keep me reading all of you everyday.

This technical solution, although possible, is unworkable in my humble opinion. Using me as an example, I basically use my work computer for all of my e-mail. I can get away with this because I don't have a traditional 9-5 job. However, we have a general office policy to minimize personal e-mail which I respect. Thus, an e-mail chain, although informative, would be impractical for me. I can scan the hsbbweb for relevant material in a few minutes everyday without being unproductive, whereas massive e-mail processing would likely be counter-productive to a point. Not suggesting any of you would begin flooding my inbox

My point is that the solution is very easy technically. The hsbbweb is served from a box just like the one you use to post and read with. Thus, we need to merely transfer management of the box (or contents thereof) to a third party (e.g., TRhit, PGStaff, Fungo...etc). The only problem as I see it is what are Bob's desires. He has the right to shut it down and that is it. I completely respect that if that is the case. However, it can be managed by a caring third party, if desired. Bob, you are truly the man and have created something very special. Please, sincerely consider all the genuine offers that have been presented to take over management of this site.

I was lost!!
Stumbled onto hsbbweb in Jan 2000, & read, read, read for months before having the courage to post. In fact I pm'd OPP & fungo, bbscout, & Bighit15 first! Had to test the waters to see if I could be accepted!
I ran copies of the Timeline & several other things from Recruiting, Showcases, Articles, How to make the HS team, etc. Learned about ASMI, pitch counts, bat ratios, politics and more!
I've prayed for those that requested it & even made a couple requests! I've cried every year when I read the story from piaa_ump. I've rejoiced with futureback mom, Hotmama, OPP, Fungo, Bighit, TPM & all you others!

Oh, We could go on & on forever about the things we've all learned from this great site!
Please don't go!

I've also volunteered in the other thread to resurrect the site as www.hsbbweb.com. I own a very small web development company as my full-time job, so I have the background to run a new site, although I'm not sure exactly how much time it might take. We'll see if Bob expresses his preference or wishes. I own the hsbbweb.com domain name because I registered it as a possible fallback for Bob a couple years ago when he was threatened with involuntary closing of this site.

Bob has provided a great service to many people over the years, and of course we won't let this die if we can help it!
