You are correct if you believe that your front shoulder is opening up prematurely. Get your hands and hip moving first.
Well, IMO, from the limited info and only seeing one swing, if you have said your elbow is staying close to your body, i don't see how you are getting jammed. Some full video of more than one swing may help those on here that are more adapt in the hitting dept help you out. It may be as simple as doing some T drills to help you concentrate on your contact point
It's hard to tell from the photo, although it appears this way, but are you landing your front (left) foot open?
looks like your hand are getting involved too early..so you are not creating enough separation from your lower half. you want your hips opening when front foot lands and hands come last...looks like your hands are creeping forward and following your shoulder path rather than staying back and driving toward the ball
