I am out of ideas and my son won't give us any ideas. It doesn't have to be baseball related. He is turning 17. Any and all thoughts are welcome!
Thanks!

Usually it's sports equipment, but I thought wireless speakers were a good gift - you can even get waterproof ones (for the shower, or pool).
One of the books on the history of baseball, Willie Mays, Aaron, Ted Williams.

Additional accident forgiveness on your car insurance or buy him clothes/sneakers
I got my son an electric razor for his 16th (we give practical gifts). His response was, "Mom, I shave like maybe once every two months!" Guess it's not as practical as I thought. Lol!
I certainly remember what I wanted when I was 17 years old. I can’t recommend that as an appropriate gift!
I did a set of decent irons about that age (he regifted them back to me when he got some better ones a few years ago). I also made the mistake of letting him spend his birthday cash to add an exhaust system to my truck that I let him drive to HS. Note to other parents, once you let your kid mod a vehicle, it becomes their vehicle...
I have three boys. At 17, they all had their driver's license and would spend their free time hanging out with friends, and going out to eat. My boys loved getting gift cards to their favorite eating out places: Five Guys, Moe's, Panera, etc.
Airpods, Playstation / Xbox gift cards (always looking to power up their characters or players in games), Hoodies (Baseball Bat Bros, Baseballism, etc), Hey Dude shoes, A new hat for his favorite teams (a snapback or fitted hat depending on what he likes), Bluetooth speakers. Just a few that I know my 17 year old son is constantly using or has asked for as gifts in the past.
Concert tickets or other non-baseball events he can go to with friends

+1
At that age my son would kill for NBA tickets. Actually, I'm not sure that has changed. Also, sneakers, especially if you can get a friend to tell you which one he covets. And sunglasses.
Good ideas. Thanks everyone.
Took him for a golf lesson and fitting.
Gold chain necklace (if his drip needs a boost)
Gold chain is a great idea!
There are some new Yeezy Boost 350v2 dropping on Saturday. You can get them online at Dicks if you are up early.
I'm going to revise my suggestions to some good noise cancelling headphones. - Money on long bus rides and blocking out noisy roommates. As for a chain with a HS Jersey number, I think that ends up the same place as a HS class ring.
So we got him the chain and number above that I pictured. Big hit! Thanks a bunch everyone for their input.
