Hey,i haven't posted in a little while but ever since highschool ball has ended which i did pretty good to finish off my senior season before college ball but ive prob played 15+ games overall already with my select team up to this point.I play in a pretty good league ranging from juniors in highschool to freshman/sophmore in college but i just havent been stinging the ball like i did in HS ball. Im geting hits and bunting good,im not trying to be selfish for hte teams sake but i want to go back to stinging the ball.My coach and others have already found the the problem but i just cant seem to put it into action...My stride is messed up and along with that its causing my hands to drop which leads to my shoulder dipping and alot of pop outs and balls. It just stressing me out,its gotten to my head and i cant get it out.Besides t-work and extra BP is there any other simple drills or things i can do to help the nature of the cause because i know ,i am my only enemy and i will have to fix it geting to my head.any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally unless one can see what you're doing so it can be properly evaluated, trying to give you advice sight unseen could probably do more harm then good.

That said there are a couple of things that I have been advised as general rules of baseball hitting.

1. If you are dropping your hands it means you are collapsing your back knee to quickly in your swing.

2. Your stride should be heel-to-toe. Begin with the heel slightly up, moving to finish with the heel down and the toe up. Keep your stride to a minimum.

3. Pop ups can be caused by dropping the bathead through the hitting zone. Try to practice using a batting Tee. It usually forces you to concentrate on keeping your bat more level as you start the swing with the knob of the bat, and keep your eye more fixed on the target which is the top half of the ball to insure the ball has full backspin.

Just some suggestions, but practice usually cures slumps.

My son is finishing his freshman year of high school. JV pitching was slow compared to travel. He was opening up too soon. Everything you mentioned followed. He got over it by taking a wide stance instead of striding. He only lifts his foot slightly now and comes down in the same place. It stopped him from opening up to much, the hands stayed back, the shoulder stopped dropping and he started driving the ball again.
Thanks guys,Yes i did T-work right after my game yesterday night for 15 mins or so and i foscused on my stance and keeping hands down and shoulder up and it does help as i hit the ball hard tonight against a 19u/college team. going 1-2 but the others were fielder's choice and etc but still beat the throws.Tommorrow im going to do some more T-work,im geting it back i just need to be more comfortable at the plate and relax and it will come back.
