That is a great story, thanks for posting it.

I had the opportunity to coach Eric last year at the Tournament of Stars (AABC Team) and I saw 1st hand that he is a special player. There is no question that he is very talented. You can go to the games and see that. He has very good size and can flat out hit. I was very impressed watching him play during the games and against the best players in the country and he excelled. However, the thing that impressed me the most was what I saw from Eric from the other side of the fence. Not only was he talented (everyone at the TOS is), but he was a great kid too. He was very polite, was a great teammate, and was just plain likeable. In addition to playing in the games, we had several workouts and BP sessions and it was a pleasure to watch him perform and just hang out. Again, all of the players at the TOS are very talented and the hitters can put on a show during BP. What impressed me the most about Eric is how he drove the ball to all fields. While other guys were hitting line drives to the opposite field and pulling HR's, Hosmer was hitting oppo bombs. He even hit an opposite field HR in the Gold Medal Game.

Eric Hosmer is a very good player and there is no limit to the amount of success that he can achieve with his ability. The fine young man that he is makes you cheer for him and wish him success each step of the way. I am glad that I had the opportunity to not only see Eric play, but to get to know him as well. I wish him a ton of success and will be following him each step of the way!
