In Sun Prairie WI this morning, hundreds of faithful watched as Jimmy the groundhog came out of his hole and did not see his shadow! For those of you who do not deal with winter, this means we will have an early spring. This phenomenon is a National event celebrated in other US locations with weathermen claiming it is correct as many times as they are. Big Grin

Being a "Glass half full" kind of guy, I could not be happier. The thought of SPRING snow storms feels much better than WINTER snow storms. pull_hair

...as rz1 climbs back in his hole waiting for the "guy in blue" to really open the spring season.worm

Sad day in NJ:
quote:
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. There's no joy in Hunterdon County, New Jersey this Groundhog Day. That's because there's no groundhog. A four-legged weather prognosticator known as "J.B." has been missing from its Franklin Township burrow for almost a year.

The National Groundhog Union (NGU) is reporting similarities with the Hoffa disappearance and are pointing paws at a "weather frustrated" NJ HS baseball group.

More bad news from NJ:

Thoms River- Thoms River Fire Department mascot Sparky the pig passed away last night of natural causes. Sparky was a fixture in departmental advertising going back 15 years. Sparky will be missed.
On the bright side, the Thoms River Fire Department annual charity BBQ normally held in April has been moved to this week end.
ClevelandDad---

Well, with all of the RODENT IMPOSTER PROGNOSTICATORS out there now, I'm not surprised!! Razz

The road to Punxsy is at the top of my development. I've lived here for 20 years and I have never been tempted to stand outside in the dark in the dead of winter to watch a groundhog climb out of a hole. I can do that from the comfort of my own home---all I have to do is look out through my back window. Phil's family hibernates in my backyard...I'm quite certain of that! Smile
