I help coach a 15U travel team with my 3rd son, the Hudson Valley Wolfpack. Last Wed we won our ECTB League Championship. On Friday we had a doubleheader at the 15U ECTB National Championships. Our tired arms and bodies struggled. On Sunday we were scheduled for a Consolation game. The other team left town without notifying anyone, leaving us without a game to play.

Another consolation game was going on. The coaches agreed to cut it short and the Sykesville Cyclones from Maryland agreed to play a short 5th game against us. The teams were very evenly matched and after 4 innings we were tied at 5-5. At that point the umpires left - and ended the official game. We played another 2 innings with the coaches acting as officials. Sykesville won in the 6th with 2 runs.

Despite being 0-3-1 in the tournament and having no pitching left, the Sykesville Cyclones stayed to play a 5th game with us. I tip my hat to them, send them my thanks and best wishes.
