I know that we all make typo's, spelling errors, and some grammatical mistakes. I just read something that was really upsettinng from a student at a private school. The spelling and grammar was atrocious.

As adults, we should take time to write correctly and set an example as many students read our posts (spell check on this site might help). I know people are less careful in e-mails and web sites than in letters and other corresponsence, but we should take a little more time.

One thing that drives me crazy:

Their= possesion. That bat is not ours, it is their bat.

There= place. The bat is over there.

They're= contraction. They're playing on field #3.

Hear ye Hear ye ---or is it---- Here ye Here ye!!?? BeenthereIl is right. We (the HSBBW) should not use the website to correct the grammar and spelling of players OR adults. There are adults and players that may not be as intelligent as you, may not be as educated as you, or may not have been educated in the United States. Bare with them ---or is it ---- Bear with them?

I think what is being said here is, if the kids want help (which is the reason we are all here)
write your question clear enough to be understood. I understand that kids, including mine, shorten up words to make it quicker to write....Other kids understand what is being said. I, for one, do not! If I can't understand the question, I cannot respond to the question.

I had to read the post in question twice and then out loud to one of my sons to understand parts of it. And I still don't know if the guy made the team!!

Please guys, we are not demanding that this be an extention of English class, just don't abbreviate soooo much.
