I got to watch my grand daughter play her first Tball game today. So cute, relaxing, and I wasn’t tempted to yell anything! Can’t promise it will stay that way forever, but perspective is a great thing.

My dad is now a "professional spectator". He goes to all of his grandchildren's stuff and enjoys it so much and is always so positive.
I once asked him where this man was when he was coaching and watching me. He told me that wisdom comes with age and experience.
My parents love to watch my boys play! Warms my heart. My wife’s mom and step dad….they wouldn’t go to my son’s basketball game 5 miles from their house let alone drive 45 minutes to watch them play football or baseball. My wife’s dad and step mom have seen them play, but don’t really care and might see one game a year. Whether it be football or baseball or whatever. I hope I can make all my grandkids games…
We had a neighbor who played catch with my son when he was 3 across the alley that separated our homes. He and his wife had no grandchildren so we invited them to come to my son's game. They agreed. He was probably 5 and they used pitching machines. We were all sitting and enjoying the game, then Duncan got up to bat. The neighbor went nuts, started yelling about the machine wasn't working, wasn't throwing strikes, kids shouldn't be expected to hit that way. His wife was pulling on his belt hissing "not our kid, sit down it's NOT OUR KID!"
I love the story —the guy was our local college president. He never came to another game, but always enjoyed hearing about them later.
My son's pro career ended in March (2023). His son was born 8/23/23. I have to wait about 5 more years for the cycle to continue! I can't wait! The little nugget is already showing signs of being a lefty
