When my son was little he was a dirtbag. Sometimes I had to tell him to take off the uniform before I would allow him in the car. Picture a lead off hitter who caught until he was twelve. There were times I had to clean his uniform with the power wash at the self serve car wash.
This will make your life easier... Guaranteed!!!

I tried that Iron-Out stuff (http://www.superironout.com) that was recommended to get white pants clean. The stuff works so great it's unbelievable! No scrubbing. No pre-treating. No damaging BLEACH! Just soak in hot water!

First: You may want to run the pants through a regular wash first to get off any loose clay, or just get them wet by soaking them in the sink or on the back porch with a hose...

Then, pour some in 5-gallon bucket then add enough hot water to cover pants add a little detergent to the mix too. Add pants, pour a little more Iron-Out in on top and use a broom stick to move around. The stuff stinks a bit - like sulphur, so move it to the porch or garage ASAP! After a while ALL the stains just disappear! After they soak for an hour or more, just wash as normal.

I couldn't find anywhere locally, so I just ordered it on amazon.com

You will not believe it! My son's pants that's he's wore in over 100 - 200 games look brand new! EVERY stain is completely gone... Even the ones that were over 1 year old... It also doesn't discolor braids or piping! I'm shocked and very happy!

-Good Luck!

Yep...Iron Out.

I usually wash the pants in cold water once...don't dry.

Fill the sink with hot water and about a 1/4 cup of iron out.

Soak pants for an hour or two...wash again...

Iron Out is very strong. I WILL lighten and even bleach out some colors...never really had a problem with pin stripes down the leg...also, don't take a big whiff of it...you might find yourself laying on the floor...the whole house will smell like rotten eggs while you soak...

Iron Out. By far the best product around.

If you can't find it in the laudry detergent section, check the plumbing department at Walmart. Walmart has the industrial size.

I soak the uniform in hot water with about 1/4 cup of Iron Out, one hour or overnight, then wash as normal. I do dry in the dryer.

The first time I used it, it removed red clay stains on white pants that were months old. Grass stains may take a little scrubbing with a brush after soaking, but it will come out.

It is quite a chemical reaction: the odor (smells like peppermint then quickly turns to the sulphur smell) and the clay residue at the bottom of the sink that is almost greenish. I guess that is the "iron" that came "out" of the red clay!
