Great Academics / Good Baseball Program

I have done some research on this. University of Va. has a great basball program and great academics.

James Madison has a very good baseball program and great academics. James Madison is building a new stadium that will be finished sometime in 09 and will attract more players.

There are others.

Emory, Trinity, Davidson, Rhodes, USC, Pepperdine, Pacific Lutheran, Stanford.......I mean the list could go on and on.........all levels, all over the country. There are literally dozens and dozens of schools that would meet this criteria.

Take a close look at schools that combine great academics with great baseball:
North Carolina
Virginia
Stanford
Notre Dame
Vanderbilt
Rice
University of Southern California
Michigan
Baylor
San Diego
Tulane

Go to Barrons, Kiplingers or USN&W. Find the top academic schools. Then match them up with conference standings. Some of the schools listed may be too competitive baseball-wise for some players. A baseball program doesn't have to be a Top 25 program to be a positive experience.

Sometimes a college is a great school due to a handful of majors (if it's yours). Some people like very large universities for the alumni connections.

In the SF Bay area, we have U of California at Berkeley, U of San Francisco, Santa Clara
and U of California/Davis and Stanford.

Recently, I had the opportunity to tour the classrooms, study hall, weight rooms, sports facilities and cafeteria at the U of San Francisco and I was impressed with the academics and sports history.
