Thank you.  I'm man enough to admit that I had tears reading this.  Reminds me of last year.  We had a kid on our team who was the team manger for multiple sports all four years at our HS.  He loved baseball though and lived for managing the baseball team.  If you saw him on the street it would be hard to tell he had some type of disability, but if you knew the kid you knew that he was unable to play sports.  What ever affected him also caused him go get out of breath fairly easily and stopped him from making sudden movement.  Coach had checked with his parents before the season and they gave the coach permission to put the kid in as a baserunner at some point if he could.

In our area JV is made up of V players who do not get sufficient playing time during the V games so the entire V team is at the games including the manager.  Last JV game of the season, coach puts the kid in as a pinch runner when the primary runner reached 3rd.  Smile from ear to ear.  Batter lines one up the first base line to the fence.  Kid comes running home and scores.  Team goes wild, fans go wild, the other team goes wild.  Kid is in tears he is so happy.  After fist bumping our team the entire other team comes out of the dugout and runs in from their positions to fist bump him.
