To follow up my last post, who are some of the kids in the north shore area putting up these numbers( 7- 11 homeruns).

There was a kid named Sosa that used to play up north...he was known to hit a few outta' the park. 
Joey Debernardis, 08, Lake Zurich, don't have the final #, but it was around 11 and he hit close to .400
Catcher Rich Ruff of Notre Dame had around 8 long ones this year. Half of them were opposite field .
Can someone define a "great hitter" at the HS level---there ar eonly a small handful of great hitters at the MLB level

Where is Risi playing this summer? He had winter workouts with Norwood, but I heard he may play for Top Tier.
Risi also played in a decent sized park, with the wind blowing in most of the time. He will be fun to watch next year.
Risi is on Top Tier's 17u roster.
Lashmet, 3B for the Trevs has 7
I haven't seen all these kids, but I saw a couple that I think were pretty good. The problem with numbers is that aside from HR's the numbers are whatever The Coach wants them to be.
I think Ian Glodberg from Lake Forest is an excellent hitter, though he may not have enough dingers to make some people happy but I know he must have a few. I also think that The Lashmet kid from New Trier looked very good. He is a big kid who looked pretty athletic and had a good approach.

Couldn't agree more with your reference to Ian Goldberg and Lashmet. Ian has had a remarkable season. He's such a hard worker throughout the year and has gotten better each and every season. His senior campaign has been awesome.
Best of luck to Clayton as he gets ready to begin his next journey. I'll be checking the Johns Hopkins box scores next spring to see how he's doing. Have a wonderful summer.

Rosy thanks for the nice words. Clay will appreciate them. I don't know if you will see Clay's name in too many Box Scores for Hopkins next year. They just had a fine season, losing in The Regionals on the last day to the eventual National Champions and The Blue Jays have all their pitchers coming back. We'll hope for the best!

I've heard from so many people that Risi is one of the best 08 hitters, but everytime we have faced him he hasnt shown me much. he also didnt play against us this year. but numbers cant lie too much. im sure he's great
