About James Wood - and quotes his mom
Great story. Fun to see!! Thanks for sharing Bob.
HEY< HEY PAULA!!
The thing that comes to mind is what a nice story, stories that well usually happen because the subject of the story is someone who makes it easy to write about by just being himself. Obviously, I don't know James at all, but this makes me wish I did. All the best to him.
@PTWood, what are the chances he's still in Wilmington on 6/25? (I have tickets.)
A very special player with a very special family.
This is so amazing...
Good story.
Great article! Really enjoyed reading it.
Hi all! Thanks for the kind words!! Girls and I are on a trip to celebrate their graduations (two undergrad and one grad) and my return to the US so I haven't been online as much. It was a super nice article... and James made good on it today going 3-4 with a walk, a HR and a triple. Yesterday he was a triple short of the cycle and today a double. He's definitely seeing the ball well right now
@MidAtlanticDad, your guess is as good as mine!
Awesome article, well written. I am pulling for him!
Nope, promoted already!
@anotherparent he playing in Wilmington one day and for Harrisburg the next! Crazy times but very exciting!

As long as the pitchers throw "hit able" strikes!!!

That's awesome!! Congrats!
Love reading these things and then forwarding to my kid to read. Love the quote by him in the last paragraph or two. That is my son's motto...no regrets. That is what I encourage all of these kids to do. I tell them something like this, "You will be 51 some day and you don't want to look back and wonder what might have been if you had followed your passion and dreams. Go for it kid, you have the rest of your life to work and do adult things!"
The Washington Post is all-in on James Wood!
"Follow up" from Yahoo Sports. "six tools"

The "brass ring" is close.

And yet another Washington Post story: Barry Svrluga, headline "These Nats are pretty fun. They’d be more fun with James Wood":

[I know behind a paywall to some]
I hope the media doesn’t create fan expectation James is the next Soto or Harper. He might be. But give him a chance to be a rookie, learn and progress.
