What are some of the better baseball books that don't deal with instruction. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Moneyball: I know the point is over done to sell books, but a really great read anyway.

Official Visit: If you have a kid looking to go on to college ball, check this one out.

Sandy Koufax: -The recent one by Jane Leavy.
I am a big Koufax fan, so my judgement may be clouded on this one.

Any others; do tell.

"Ball Four" by Jim Bouton was pretty humorous and a quick read.

"The Teammates" by David Halberstam
Teammates is about Dom DiMaggio,Johnny Pesky, Bobby Doerr and Ted Williams. I really enjoyed it. It had some great Williams stories in it.

"Little League Confidential" (I forgot the author's name but it was pretty funny, any former LL parent will definitely relate).

Koufax book by Leavy, Moneyball, and Official Visit are excellent books and I second the nominations!

If I can't watch baseball now, I might as well read about it.
Savannah - Last Best League is by Joe Collins - ordered it for Junior for Xmas - from Barnes and Noble.com - had it here in 4 days.

Lupica writes books around various sports; Wild Pitch is a decent fictional baseball story with real life characters [Lenny Dykstra, other Mets]
Just finished Bump and Run yesterday [football]; Red Zone is kind of a continuation of Bump
