Went to a game today and met up with a fellow poster who shall remain anonymous. During the course of the game, there was a questionable pitch call by the plate umpire. From the usually quiet mouth of this fellow poster comes these words:
Shake your head, Blue ... your eyes are stuck!!

Needless to say, many on our side of the stands thought that was a great line, much better than the common expression "You're killing me, Blue"

So whats so funny about heckling Umpires????????..........

ok, so maybe it can be......

"move around ump, your killing the grass"
" How did you get that square head in the round mask?"
"Lenscrafter called, they will be ready in 30 minutes"

Not that I have ever been heckled...........but if you need a laugh......try this

Under the requirements necessary to become an umpire........just under a thick skin......you should find a sense of humor.......

My favorite:

Son's pitching a shutout and his curve was really working for him that day, had batters swinging in the dirt, bailing out of the box ...

Mid-way through the game he throws a hard breaking 3/4 curve that just misses the low-inside corner. Ump calls it a ball (and it was). One fan calls out "all day long, all day long". Ump glares over his shoulder at him, motions inside with his hand. Another fan(not me) calls out "you've been callin' that a strike all day long, don't get a conscience now". Even the Ump thought that was funny.
URKillingmeblue,

No it is not your imagination. Although I remain a daily reader of the HSBBWeb, I have opted not to post.

In the past few months the trolls, baiting and bickering has gotten the best of me and I find it best for me to decline to participate.

As the season draws upon us, I'm sure that I will post more often in the "Ask the Umpires" forum or in the forums where I feel I can contribute.
