This past weekend brought me one of the Greatest Moments I have personally witnessed in sports. People that are involved in sports understand that there are many stories to be told and that every player has one, but to actually be witness to the accomplishments of an individual who embodies a Champions Spirit made the entire baseball season for me.

I was lucky enough to be present on Sunday during the Cal State Fullerton Vs. Stanford series when a young man was called into the game to make an apperance on the mound. He wore #19 and entered as would or should anyone else. I am sure most in attendance knew not of his past and certainly could not have ever known by his demenor, but I was well aware.
Erik Davis made my year!!!!
I can't tell you the immense feelings of satisfaction this young fellow presented to me, because here was a passionate, committed, extremely talented player whom just this past summer had urgeant reason to test his character and he passed in the most inspirational way. His extreme talents are supported by his willingness to overcome incredible challanges and his moment this weekend provided evidence that he represents the best his generation offers. Only his family and Erik personally knows all the details of his past, but I can assure you that his past has passed and his future is blinding with its brilliant shine.

I was honored to witness such character in person.
