This story could really rock baseball. Hearing on ESPN he's being released, investigated for usage, distribution, etc. Apparently may have given up many names of players in an April interrogation. Or may have to give up names to save his behind as this plays out.
MLB needs to go to the olympic type testing - hgh as bad or worse than some steroids. Time to completely (as much as is currently possible) clean up the game.

The only thing that would shock me is if Dan Patrick would shut up for a couple of minutes. LOL.

If anyone on this planet is shocked by steroid/HGH/illegal drug use in pro and college baseball at this point - they have been living in a cave.

I think Danny just wants to pump up the jive - and get some viewers lined up for Nielsen ratings week. LOL

A cave..or maybe a foxhole. I'm waiting to see what the response from the "foxhole buddies" will be on this...wonder if Grimsley will be called "Mopey" for spilling the beans...I'm sure the "character assassination" of Grimsley will pick up by the Bonds apologists, just as they assailed the character of the reporters that broke the Balco story..
2seamer,

It is - and has been been - an epidemic.

I dont really care about the media/legal BS that surrounds the guys that get caught - or that lie about it, hire good lawyers and dont get in trouble. That is nothing more than millionaire cheaters and liars playing the system and the public. It happens in all walks of life.

I just care about all the kids I know that have messed with this stuff. And there are alot of them. HS and college.

I cant say I know what the next step should be - but I hope something serious is done soon at all levels.

As for the high profile millionaire *****s like Bonds/Giambi/McGwire/Sosa/Palmeiro that have abused the system - who cares at this point?

Just add Grimsley to the ***** list. LOL
The best part of it all is the big names in the game are already using another untestable substance. There will always be an edge. Chemists can do remarkable things and they can always find another hormone or antibody that will enhance something. Then a athlete will use it to his advantage.

Just wait till the bells Start ringing about all the players using insulin and IGF-1.

Then we will be getting somewhere with these so called investigations.
And not the luckiest, either. When he lived here in KC, his house got hit by a small airplane that crashed. His wife, child and nanny were inside. The six people on the plane died, but his family escaped injury. A tragic accident.

On the lighter side... If nothing else, the man has had an interesting life. Here's a novel idea, but do ya think maybe he'll write a book?
There's no defense team. I just want them all, in all sports to be tested. 6'5" 325 lb linemen that run the 40 in 4.6 and have 8% body fat. The NFL is in as much denial as MLB. Then, lets see them test any guy who's having a good week.
Anybody notice how many pitchers are going down with injuries this season? And some think it was only hitters.
.

Been saying to deaf ears for a year...

The whole HGH thing was completely predictable, MLB knew it all along...it was another dirty little secret that they AND the players union do/did not want to face head on...

While the chemists will always be ahead of the game...

the only way this cleanup gets serious is by congressional law...

Otherwise no one wants to clean it up, they only want to make it LOOK like they are cleaning it up...

their only intent to fool us into thinking that they are serious...

so we will continue to buy tickets...

You can't just test a guy for having a good week, that's "statistical profiling"

Spinedoc,
That's good Big Grin

I can see a network TV spinoff of CSI/Law&Order in the near future called "Statistical Profiler". Can you imagine PG starring as the lead profiler, TRhit as the chiseled Defense Attorney, Fungo as the all-knowing Prosecuter, GotWood as the talkative cop, Andy "E6" May as everyones nemesis, and the hotty HSBBW moms co-starring as profiling investigators and Assistant DA's. Then you could have cameo appearances by all the guys mentioned on Grimsley list who may be killing time and looking for a side job while waiting for their congressional hearing date.

Rumors on the internet are speculating that Pujols' trainer is involved

I've seen it posted that Pujols trainer is definitely on the list, and that Grimsley used the same trainer. The posts showed pictures of them all together.

That in itself doesn't constitute any kind of proof. However, where there's smoke, there's fire.

Bud Selig must still be in isolation, because he isn't saying a word. Maybe if baseball gets a real Commishioner, things may start to change for the positive.
