Just curious what the correct ruling is for this situation.

Part of the outfield was unplayable so it was decided that if the ball was hit to centerfield it would be a ground rule double automatically.

Now, tied score - man on second. Kid hits the ball to centerfied, we thought we won because the guy on second would come home.

Umpire ruled that you cannot win on a ground rule double with a tied score. Is this correct?

We had a game where something wierder happened. We had bases loaded with two outs in bottom of seventh. With the count 2 and 2 our cleanup hitter took a giant swing and missed. But because it was dark out and a cloud totally obscured any sunlight at the exact moment of the pitch, the umpire ruled it was a dead ball. Instead of striking out the player got another pitch and hit a single to win the game.
