the reason you do hack squats are because they work nearly every muscle in your entire body. i know that by waking up the day afer doing them. they are generally used for football my fball coach had us doing them. after a couple of sets i never tried them again. they shot pain through my whole arm.
Anything on a machine is usually not to great for you. Jon wrote something one this somewhere bewteen here and his blog, I think everyone should read it who liftd.
Besides, even if you could, why would you want to? Nothing performed in baseball (or life for that matter) is done in isolation.
Machines are actually more dangerous in most instances. IMO the hack squat is one of those. The machine forces you into a pre-determined movement. Do you have a machine help you when you throw or pitch?
Why not just learn the correct squatting technique and do so with a barbell or dumbbells? You will receive much more benefit.
