You can never truly isolate a muscle.

Besides, even if you could, why would you want to? Nothing performed in baseball (or life for that matter) is done in isolation.

Machines are actually more dangerous in most instances. IMO the hack squat is one of those. The machine forces you into a pre-determined movement. Do you have a machine help you when you throw or pitch?

Why not just learn the correct squatting technique and do so with a barbell or dumbbells? You will receive much more benefit.
