Happy 75th birthday to my favorite ball player of all time Willie "Say Hey" Mays !!!

I had the good fortune of seeing Willie a number of times in 1951 when he broke into the BIGs under Leo "Lip" Durocher

He was never averse to signing autographs and was even known to play stickball in the streets of New York around the Polo Grounds. To this day he claims that stickball helped him to learn how to hit the curveball as they played "one hop" pitch stickball and the good stickball pitchers could do tricks with the spaldeen
