Happy Mothers Day to all of the baseball moms.
Today, when I think about my own mom - she was certainly instrumental in developing my own love for baseball. Growing up in Cincinnati, she would stay up until all hours listening to Reds games when they were on the West Coast, which in turn got me doing the same thing. And when her grandsons became really good players, they had no better fan than their grandmother.
And then my wife - she supervised umpires while her boys pitched from age 8 until still today. When I think they've lost it, she still believes in them. Amazing wife and mother.
So to all the other moms on this site - I know you through the moms in my life. And I thank you for providing perhaps the most critical elements in a young baseball players life - passion for the game and never-ending belief in your sons. They couldn't do it without you!!
