Wow. Our prayers are with Coach Walsh, his family, and the Harvard community. I will remember Coach Walsh as a real straight shooter with a wicked sense of humor.

I didn't know Coach Walsh, but given fenwaysouth's comment he will certainly be missed.

Perhaps my favorite and most memorable conversation with any coach during my son's recruitment was with Coach Walsh. He came across in exactly the way fenwaysouth described.
I'm certain that he'll be missed by many. Deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him.

Very sorry to hear this... chatted with him at the 17U WWBA a few years ago and found him to be extremely intelligent and charming....

Amen. He was one of few coaches I engaged at games/showcases during recruiting. He was very helpful, treated me with respect and kindness I probably didn't expect. Most sincere sympathies to his friends and family.
You just never know. This is a big loss. Prayers for Coach Walsh and his family.
Joe Walsh was one of my best friends among college coaches. Joe was one of the nicest men I've ever known. Baseball lost a great one today. He was in Georgia a couple weeks ago telling me how happy he was about getting a commitment from a player at the event. RIP Joe, we are all going to miss you.
Coach Walsh sounds likes he was a good guy and a great ambassador for the game. RIP coach.

I never met Coach Walsh but I've been a member here for quite some time. In all that time, I've never heard one negative thing said about him and only the highest praise for the man. Feels like we've lost a member of the family

Had a chance to meet Coach Walsh just this past January during son's recruiting visit. What a nice person and he had such a great sense of humor. The hour and a half sit down seemed like 10 minutes. We walked away feeling like we had known him for 20 years.

Rest in peace, coach Walsh. I had the opportunity to talk with him a few times and my wife and son had the honor of meeting him. He was a class act. This is such a sad and unexpected thing. My prayers go out to his family and friends, the Harvard community and baseball team.

I'm very saddened to read this. I had a nice visit with Coach Walsh at the senior fall classic. He was a class act in every way, very sorry to read that he has passed. May God bless him.
Sad to hear this. A great guy that was fun to talk with. Will be missed.
