At a local HS game,
Situation, ball hit to center, the following is what was in the local paper:

It was unclear at first if he caught the ball and, though it was disputed by the Def. coach , it was ruled no-catch. Once the dispute was over, the homeplate umpire took exception to a humorous sound clip played by the crew in the press box and issued a warning to the sound man.

Have you ever had an ump give a warning to the sound guy? lol.

I have had an announcer removed from a game.

I was working a first year umpire who was a bit unsure of himself and game managment. The fans were getting him and then the announcer used his "bully pulpit" to get on him much louder.

Poor guy, didn't know what to do. I quietly asked the home coach to tell his announcer to knock it off.

The next inning, the announcer came back on with one crack after another which, in my opinion, incited the fans to join in and unnerved my partner tremendously making a bad situation worse. After the announcer yelled, "Cmon Blue pull your head out," I came in from "C" and had him removed from the facility.

One more example, a Three man AAA crew huddling at the request of one of the managers ejected the organist for playing "three blind mice" a few years back.

I have stopped the student sound man twice....

Once when he decided to become the "Play by play" and the "color" guy all wrapped up in one....and make derogatory comments about the opposing team...

Once when the sound man refused to stop the in between batter music when asked and used non radio safe versions of the songs.....
Yep... I don't remember exactly what happened but the PA announcer said something about the batter on the opposing team... I called time turned around and walked to the backstop and signaled the press box to open the window... once they did I said "We are not doing that today!" They just looked at me without saying anything... I then asked them "please nod your head if you understand"... 3 guys in the booth all nodded together in unison.

Next inning opposing coach came out with a change and told me thanks

just saw this while looking up something else....

Sept 2003....Minor League Baseball organist Wilbur Snapp, who died Saturday in Florida at the age of 83. Snapp was the ballpark organist who objected to what he thought was a bad call by an umpire in a 1985 game by playing "Three Blind Mice." The ump wasn't amused — he pointed up to Snapp and thumbed him out of the game
