There's been more than one that I've changed my mind on. A more recent one is the JC team being able to compete in rookie ball discussion. I'd say it was a preponderance of experience from a wide variety of people making me doubt my position and then I went and checked some scores and saw that the results tended to go against my arguments.

Although I still firmly believe that there are players who are more effective with a swing between level and the plane of the pitch I have much more of a line drive focus with my son these days and discourage the ground balls as much or more than the fly balls. Of course he's gained some pop and lost some running speed so he needs to be more of a "plane of the pitch" hitter.

I've also changed my opinion of Teacherman lately. He's made much more of an effort to provide information without attacking individuals. (There's a statement likely to cause a bit of controversy!)

BBM...I previously had the thought that there was very little good to come out of California...I have recently changed my mind. Big Grin

I have also previously thought highly of the use of statistics when involved in discussions...since CADad has the uncanny ability to prove my observations wrong by the mindnumbing use of stats, I now think less of the use of them. Razz
There is a set of posters on this board who's knowledge is excellent. I have sought out their opinions on a variety of subjects.

I generally get to know WHO they are before I determine the weight to attribute to their opinion.

Though rarely seen on the board anymore (since his son is a sophomore at UNC), Prepster has been an invaluable source of information to me in particular. I look forward to my son playing against him starting next year so we can renew our friendship face-to-face.

Hmmm. "Catcher's Rule/Pitcher's Drool" I can see a mental picture of that right now .... kinda reminds me of the current political situation. Only one solution.

Guess I know how you'll decide in the future about this question.
