Same in all codes.
hitting the ground makes no difference. The ball is still live after hitting the ground.

Except that it can't be a called strike.

I've seen one of your guys, I think. Back in 13u we had an ump call a strike that bounced into the strike zone. I could only laugh and shake my head as the opposing coach tried to talk him out of it.
This same ump cost us a chance at winning a game later in the same tournament when he ruled that, on a bases loaded dropped third strike with two outs, our batter-runner was out because first was occupied.
son played for a coach for a brief time that was periodically out of his mind, he actually yelled at a kid saying...you could have hit that (on a bounce)...then proceeded to tell the team that balls that bounce in are still live balls...we should be swinging at that. couldn't believe it.
I've seen a pitch bounced in the dirt and then hit for a double.........now I don't think for a minute that it was intentionally struck......it was more of a 59 ft curve ball that the batter somehow made contact with...........
And Yes, I had to have "that" discussion with the defensive coach that the ball was still legal to be hit and no, it isn't a dead ball when it hits the dirt........

Did anyone see game #2 of the Alabama-Auburn series a couple of weeks ago? I believe bases loaded - 1 out. Pitch is bounced and then hit with a check swing - a little blooper fly ball to 1B. 1B catches and throws to 3B to double up runner who "scored". Umps claim ball was batted into the ground, so run scores, hitter safe at 1B, still 1 out. Umps could not review play because play did not result in possible 3rd out (subsequent throw to 3B doesn't count). TV coverage had pretty good slow motion. Ball bounces maybe 2 feet in front of plate and is clearly hit into the air for a fly ball.

Yeah. That was Alabama-Arkansas, I believe.
