He is what is right about the game

No one deserves the recognition and accomplishment as much as Jeter, a true professional in every sense of the word.
It's also nice to see a player remain with an organization throughout his career in this day of FA and frequent trades, and no one can accomplish that better than the Yankees.

As a die hard Red Sox fan, I love Derek Jeter. I was fortunate enough to turn on the TV just as he was getting the hit that tied Gehrig the other night.

Great, great ballplayer.

Gehrig has always been the measure of greatness to me. I know there have been many greats, but Gehrig has always been special. I too have never been able to pull for the Yankees ... but how can you not respect Derek Jeter, and applaud his success? Well done Captain ... as you surpass The Original Captain.

I hate the stinking Yankees...but Jeter is a true class act, and he just plays the game right. And my O's at least won the game, a rarity lately.

I hate the Yankees with a fiery Red (Sox) passion. I consider Jeter one of the all time great talents, all time great leaders and all time great winners. Darn it I wish he played for the Red Sox!
