I just got back from the Oregon LL 11/12 All Star state championship game which the little league team my son played for a few years back was in the final.

Our pitcher threw one of the best games I have ever seen a 12 year old throw. He is a little guy, couldn't weigh more than 100 pounds. The opposing pitcher was a 6 foot lefty fireballer.

Our kid had a terrific off speed pitch that made his fastball look like heat, and he had great control the entire game. The contrast between the two pitchers was really something.

I've seen plenty of 12 year old man childs who can mow down opposing batters. Somehow that isn't nearly as impressive as seeing a kid PITCH so well.

He took a perfect game into the sixth inning, where he finally walked the leadoff, then retired the next three for an absolutely beautiful no-no.

He is the #3 pitcher on the team! What a great performance, and in the biggest game of his life to boot.

Now they are on their way to the regional. What a big day in this kid's life.

Did anybody watch the Northwest regional final? Same kid - his savvy kept the very powerful Washington team in check, held them to two runs.

This kid has tons of guts. Then, in the 6th inning, after hitting his 85 pitch limit and moved to centerfield, pulled down a sure homer for the first out of the last inning.

So my little league team goes to Williamsport!
I would have liked to see his performance. Sometimes composure at this age is lacking. It proves the point that there is a difference between pitching and throwing. The mental side of the game was evidently there and it sounds like he pitched smart. Hitting is about pitch recognition and timing. Pitching is about deception and disruption of timing. This will be a game he will always remember and bodes well for his future as a player. Congrats.
take this for what its worth from a catcher with balls .I'll always take the #3 control freak with no emotion and good location over WILDTHING MANCHILD .!!! Just right for the big hitter games and keepin his pitch count down !! great job.
have him memorize that moment and when the chips are down and he's rattled do what i do and walk to the mound and put him back in that happy place where he dominated !! pat him on the butt
(good for one out min. )
watch him shine !!!!
