HEADFIRST HONOR ROLL CAMPS SHOWCASE II
FOR HONOR STUDENT ATHLETES WILL TAKE PLACE AT ROGER DEAN STADIUM IN JUPITER.
NOV. 4TH AND 5TH. GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT KIDS.

The Honor Roll Camps are not typical showcases. Coaches representing the nation's finest colleges and universities will both evaluate and instruct. Our goal is to develop your game while exposing you to the schools you want to attend. The weekend will include a "showcase morning" on Saturday and four live games, mixed with intense skill work. Sunday will conclude with a comprehensive seminar on the college recruiting process

Program Information:
Headfirst Baseball
Headfirst Baseball was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1996 on the philosophy that the playing field can serve as a platform for some of life's greatest lessons. Leadership, teamwork, preparation and maximized effort are a few key principles upon which the Headfirst mentality has been built. Headfirst is currently the largest provider of professional baseball instruction in the D.C. area, offering private lessons, camps, clinics, developmental leagues and travel/select teams -- as well as academic mentoring and tutoring. The Honor Roll Camp was started in 1999 to specifically serve the showcasing needs of the country's top baseball student-athletes and to provide coaches from some of the nation's top colleges a recruiting tool focused specifically on ballplayers with the academic qualifications to be admitted to their schools.

Camper Eligibility
The Honor Roll Camp is available to any high school sophomore, junior or senior. There is no minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA required for attending the camp, however the colleges and universities in attendance will have their own academic standards for admission. The college coaches in attendance will be evaluating/recruiting members of all three classes, including current seniors.

Headfirst Baseball Staff
The Headfirst Baseball professional staff will run and administer the Honor Roll Camp, providing organization and instruction while facilitating the roles of the college coaches/recruiters. The Headfirst staff will include:

Brendan Sullivan - Headfirst Director; Stanford University; San Diego Padres
Rob Elwood - Headfirst Co-Director; Amherst College; Red Sox/Indians Scouting Departments
Justin Cronk - Headfirst Assistant Director; former coach Amherst, UNC-Ashville, Shenandoah University, Boston College
Ted Sullivan - Headfirst Assistant Director; Duke University; Cleveland Indians
And more...
College Baseball Staff
Headfirst's Honor Roll Camp boasts an impressive lineup of coaches from among the nation's finest colleges and universities. We expect all schools listed on our flyer and website to be in attendance in Florida at the Honor Roll Camp, and most of the coaches will be on the field, in uniform, working/coaching the camp. If a school's commitment to the Honor Roll Camp needs to be discontinued after our flyer has gone to print, an up-to-date school list will always be on our website. WE DO NOT LIST SCHOOLS THAT HAVE NO INTENTION OF COMING TO THE HONOR ROLL CAMP. Each coach in attendance will have access to a camp roster complete with academic and athletic information. Each coach will also have an opportunity to speak to the camp participants about his respective school and program. Coaches will be accessible to the ballplayers throughout the weekend to answer questions.

For those fl ying home Sunday evening, it is best to get a flight at 7:00pm or later if possible. If any ballplayers have to leave earlier in the evening (and therefore leave camp a bit early), we will make accommodations.
Ballplayers Traveling Alone To Either Camp
Ballplayers are welcome to travel to the Honor Roll Camp without an accompanying family member (though most do arrive with family). Headfirst will provide rides for these ballplayers to and from the ballpark each day (from our host hotel only) but will not be able to provide rides to and from the airport. Our staff will be staying at our host hotel with the ballplayers.

Accomodations
All campers will be responsible for their own lodging while at the Honor Roll Camp.

Jupiter, Florida:
Headfirst has blocked a large group of rooms at a special Honor Roll rate of $109.00 per night (including breakfast each morning) at our host hotel: the Holiday Inn Express Juno Beach (about 10 minutes from Roger Dean Stadium). Our contact at the Holiday Inn, Chris Elias, can be reached at (800) 272-6380. Please mention Headfirst's Honor Roll Camp when you speak with Chris - and reserve early as these rooms will fill up. Check out the Holiday Inn's website (www.hiejuno.com). If rooms at the Holiday Inn fill up, you can ask Chris to recommend alternative lodging. There is also a Hampton Inn across the street from the Holiday Inn: (561) 626-9090

Camp Meals
In Florida, a continental breakfast (included in the room rate) will be served in the lobby of our host hotel (the Holiday Inn Express) each morning. Many other hotels will have a similar arrangement, both in Florida and in Richmond. Headfirst will provide the ballplayers lunch at the ballpark each day (included in the camp tuition). Ballplayers will be responsible for their own dinner. At the Richmond Honor Roll Camp, where games may run to 10pm on Saturday night, there will be a full snack bar open for dinner. In Florida and Richmond, there are several restaurants within walking distance of our host hotels and many more within a short drive. We will have plenty of cold water available all day for the players at the ballpark.

Schedule
Check-in will begin on Saturday at 7:30 am at the camp complex. Camp will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday and run until 4:30 pm. Saturday will begin with a "showcase morning" featuring the 60-yard dash, position-specific throwing and live batting practice in front of our college staff. Saturday afternoon will consist of two simulated games. All games will be coached and evaluated by our college coaches (divided between the several fields). Sunday will begin at 8:30 am with live batting practice and will also feature two simulated games, along with a defensive instructional session where the young men will be able to choose from among several mini-clinics run by our college and Headfirst staffs. We will break each day for lunch around noon. Camp will conclude on Sunday at 4:30 pm. The last hour of camp will consist of a comprehensive seminar on the college recruiting process.

Uniforms
Ballplayers should wear baseball pants, spikes and a hat to camp. Headfirst will provide a numbered t-shirt jersey to each player. Players will be responsible for their own laundry on Saturday evening if they choose to do it - we recommend bringing two pairs of pants, etc. There is a coin laundry facility at our host hotel.

Registration
Our Honor Roll Camps are certain to sell out. It is best to send your registration form to us shortly after receiving it. Your spot on our roster will be secured when a complete registration form and full payment are received. Because this is an invite-only camp, there is no online registration for the Honor Roll Camp. Also, we do not accept credit cards for this camp, only personal or certified checks. We recommend that you send your registration via Priority Mail. You will receive telephone confirmation from our office within 48 hours of our receiving your registration.

No Refunds
Due to the nature of this camp and the travel expenses involved, there will be no rain date or refunds available for the Honor Roll Camp. In the case of inclement weather, we will do EVERYTHING within our power (including using indoor cages and extending camp hours under the lights - as we did in 2002) to complete the camp. If you face a potential conflict with our dates it is best to wait to register until you are sure you can attend. We apologize for being so strict here - we were able to be more flexible with this policy before the Honor Roll Camp became so popular. However, under no circumstances will a refund be granted.

Evaluations
Headfirst is NOT a recruiting service and will not be providing individual evaluations, but we are happy to help our Honor Roll ballplayers with their college process any way possible. All Honor Roll ballplayers are eligible to submit an application for our Headfirst College Consulting Program (CCP). For information on this popular program, please CLICK HERE
