My 'baby' brother, (who is 18 years younger than me) is heading off to Iraq next week. He is a Captain in the Army 82nd Airborne and just came back from 8 months in Afghanistan. He was scheduled to be discharged this month, and in fact already had a new job and his house up for sale, but it seems that the Army had other ideas and cancelled his discharge - something called a 'stop-loss', I think. I'm sure there are many HSBBWeb posters with friends and loved ones over there, but I sure would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for him, too. He's a fine man, a great brother and a wonderful husband and father of two adorable kids. Thanks very much!

Good luck to him and his family!!!

As a proud American, I commend him. As a staunch supporter of this President and a fan of Don Rumsfeld, I am dissappointed.

They are using Stop-Loss way too much. It is a chicken you know what way to keep people beyond their committment. If it is a true volunteer force, let them out when thier committment is over.

It isn't a new trend, it's been going on for years. Heck, way back when I was just out of high school, my best friends dad who was a Cheif Warrant Officer in the Army was Stop-Loss'ed because of his Nuclear Weapons expertise.
