Hey Bob,

OK, I've got a question.

What does it take for you to toss a coach from a game? Do you have set "rules" in your mind that you hold yourself too (certain words, physical contact, etc...)? Or is it just case-by-case?

I never had a "set" of rules, per se. But of course, there were the "trigger" words to send someone to an early exit.

Physical contact, profanity, questioning my integrity, my parentage, not walking away when I said the discussion was over (I never argued), charging me, inciting players and/or fans, arguing balls/strikes, telling players to do something illegal after a warning. Those are all I can think of right now. But, that's a big list.
Thanks Bob. OK, next question...totally different.

Runner on first, no outs, count is 3-2. Pitch delivered, runner attempts steal. Ball FOUR!...but catcher throws to 2nd base anyways. Runner is called out on tag by field umpire who doesn't realize Ball FOUR has been called. Runner leaves base thinking he is out (he doesn't know Ball FOUR was called either). SS re-tags runner and umpire now calls him out a 2nd time.

Good call? Or should the field umpire have corrected the original mistake by returning him to 2nd base?
