There may be a company at the facilities selling bats. This has been the case at a couple of tournaments my son has attended.

Do you see the deputy standing on the right southpaw? That's Deputy Fife...Barney Fife.

He can steer you over to Weaver's Department Store. I'm sure they've got a bunch of high quality wood bats in their sporting goods department.

And watch where you park while in Mayberry...Deputy Fife will write you up a parking violation quicker than Aunt Bea can a la mode a piece of rhubarb pie.

If any of your players start to get out of line remember this...you've got to nip it in the bud!

southpaw_son did have a wood bat he uses for BP with him, and he used ot for the moring BP session and trials. He swung it well, earning some atta-boys from the guys standing behind the cage.

Got Wood -- We headed out for Weaver's as per your recommendation, but was double parked, and when Deputy Fife started fishing in his pocket for his bullet, and we got out of town.

We went by Grand Slam after the morning BP session, since it was closest to the NTC, and SPS found a bat he liked. Pretty good selection. If -- heaven forbid -- he needs another, I think we will head to Johnson-Lamb ... if Coach May says JL, that's good enough for me.
