help needed

TPM...can't answer your question directly, but the map finder I usually use (MSN's) has an option for "quickest or shortest". My shortest route had 336 miles, but apparently not the route you request.

Might I suggest breaking it up into two inquiries...one getting you to somewhere along the way on the route you want...then add the additonal route to Nashville?

It has been a while, but if I remember correctly, Clemson is about 4 hours from Knoxville taking the route you mentioned. I drove to Clemson from Rockwood, TN in approx. 4 1/2 hours. Rockwood is about 30 min. on the Nashville side of Knoxville.

I have made the drive from Clemson to Nashville a few times and it is best to go to Atlanta,Chattanooga, and then Nashville.

Thanks all. I figured it out going from nashville to Knoxville and then down to Clemson and I figure about 5 hours.

A word of warning. Living in Knoxville with family in Greenville/Spartanburg and Nashville puts Knoxville 3+ hours to either city. Along with construction on I-40 in Knoxville and between Knoxville and Asheville I think I would opt for the Chattanooga - Atlanta route.

Have made the trip through Knoxville many times. I-40 to Asheville from Nashville is 285 miles(4-4.5 hours), I-26 to Hendersonville Hwy 25 exit is 20 miles(20 minutes), Hwy 25 to to Hwy 123 is 40 miles(1 hour), Hwy 123 is 25 miles(30 minutes). This mileage and times are pretty accurate.
The mileage is about the same going through Atlanta, but probably will save you 45 minutes of drive time due to going through Hendersonville, NC. The scenery is much prettier going through ASheville.
