Man on first and second.

Batter squares for a sacrifice bunt.
Gets it down - and runs to first.

Fielded by the pitcher who throws to the 1st baseman - who then drops the ball.

Batter - who gave himself up and sacrificed - now gets charged for an at-bat.

Doesnt seem right.

The batter is NOT charged with an at bat (assuming that the bunt DID advance a runner, that is). In the situation you described, the batter would receive credit for a sacrifice bunt, and would reach base via an error (and the pitcher would receive credit for an assist, but that is another topic!).

JWC32 is correct. Error and sac bunt. 0 for 0.

I checked the paper today - and they did score it as a sac - and an error.
