Happy Father's Day to all the baseball dads out there!

Many of you played baseball in high school, college or beyond, and showed your son(s) your love of the game.  My husband did none of those things, his father was from a country that did not have baseball, and he didn't play growing up, other than some adult softball.  My middle son became enthralled by baseball after seeing a game on t.v. when he was 3.  He dragged in the whole family, including his 2 brothers; my husband became a baseball dad, and loved it.  Rec ball, travel ball, high school ball, college ball - it has been amazing to watch so many dads, of all types, sharing this game with their sons.

My wife knew nothing about baseball before son started playing.  I will be the first to admit, I was a workaholic back in those days.  When son was 5/6 years old, I never attended practice.  Wife used to take him to practice and "warm him up".  Thank God social media was not around back then.  One day she got on my case about not being there (I did make every game though).  Then she said what's wrong with this picture, every dad is out there with their son playing catch, and she is the ONLY mom.  I changed my work schedule, and every day I am thankful since it's such a short ride (even now).

My wife is slowly learning baseball...she really is a trooper.  During the quarantine while I was away at work she did front toss drills with the oldest and bravely overcame the fear and trusted the screen. She even tossed him a few balls that he could hit. Her baseball knowledge is still on par with my 6 year old niece but I expect a huge jump this season. To be fair, I tried gardening with her and I am sure she wanted to cutoff one of my thumbs after 10 minutes.

Yeah, my wife was the one to ferry our son to his practices (until he got his license and a car).  I would get to practice (travel team) about halfway through.   Made every game from travel, Little League, Legion, and HS.   When he went to college we were only able to attend his games about once a month (250 miles one way to the college).
