PG, you are very insightful! Yes, a bit of a catching problem, with no solution. First year catcher doing his best, but lots o' passed balls. We play our next game at a pro stadium with a huuuuge space between the catcher and the backstop area.....and this concerns me. Nothing I can do, though, but sigh and consume another handful of seeds......
You know, we're often just so limited on what we get over here. The guy I have catching is a junior and a great athlete (football and basketball stud). He's our best hope behind the plate, but this is his first season ever playing the position (and hadn't played ball at all for several years). He's in there fighting to catch a pitcher who is throwing upper 80s with a lot of movement, sharp breaker - headed to play in college. I am VERY thankful we have this guy, because at least he's in there trying and never complains. But....it is very frustrating to watch so many balls go by (and the umpires have been drilled several times by strikes that just aren't being stopped).

Wish us luck!
