We for last 2 years have done a joint graduation party with the boys team mates. We (parents) realized the guys wanted to be together and would be house hopping to each others anyway and since for the most part they shared all the same friends and acquantances so we rented the community center, organized the menu and had a blast. They were together, everyone celebrated and many people told us that this was the smart way to do it. Best part.. no one had to worry about the "open house" painting, cleaning and such, and we got to share this special time with all the players, not have to miss their parties becasue we were having our own.

On a personal level, I took all my sons baseball memories and created a scrapbook starting with the first picture we had of him with a bat and glove and ending with a blown up version of his college logo.. In between was every article, picture, etc. that we had saved on order.. This took me many nights and weekends to do, and I managed not to let him know I was doing it so on his Sr. night, at a dinner afterwards I gave it to him.. he tells me it is one of the most precious things I ever gave him in regards to an actual gift and it sure is fun to open it up and go through it, especially with him away at school..

Since our son's school had the traditional "Grad Night" festivities for the graduating seniors, I had a party at my house for the graduating parents. It was a lot of fun ... no one under 45 was allowed in.

We learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp; some are dull; some are pretty;
some have weird names; all are different colors.
And they all have to learn to live in the same box.
JustMom,
I wanted to let you know I'd read about your scrapbook a few weeks ago in another thread. I've been cutting and creating on the weekends when he's gone. He has an embroidered name taken from one of his jersey's, I wish I could find a way to include that, but our name is too long and it would hang over the sides.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing the idea so my son will have a treasured memory!

Take your book and the nameplate to a scrapbook store.. They may be able to figure something out.. Maybe help create a spine for the book. Those who do it all the time are amazing

If you need graphics or anything let me know, I have tons. Also, if you run out of page design ideas, like I did, go to my website, at the very bottom there is a link to a page called Links.. I have about 100 SB links there with lots of page designs..

Have fun.. I know I did making Chris's
