I may be asking this in the wrong forum or I may be going crazy but....is the "Hide Post" on the right of the screen new or has that always been there?

What is the point of it? That does sound like an "S word" kind of thing, right up there with the clock counting up instead of down.

Yes, this is a new feature that was released just today (Monday) by Groupee, the company that provides the software and support for our forums. They don't ask me whether we want the new features, but they do tell me what the features do!
"Hide Post" allows you to reduce a long post on your screen down to a single line so it's easier to scan down to other posts in the thread. Or, if the particular post annoys you or that poster bugs you, you can feel a sense of satisfaction by zapping it!
When I first tested "Hide Post", I thought the system would remember my preference and keep the post hidden when I went to another thread and returned. I was wrong. It only works for posts currently on your screen. Guess it can still be useful, but nothing earth-shaking.
Earth-shaking? Now that would be the Twins taking the lead in the AL Central for the first time all season - in their final game! And Joe Mauer becoming the first catcher ever to win the batting title!!!! That would be earth-shaking!

Thanks for pointing that out - I know we all at times might save a few gray hairs, or at least frown lines, by using the Ignore button!
For those who aren't familiar, if you wish to ignore ALL posts by a particular member, click on the member's name on a post they have made, then click on "Add (membername) to my Ignore List".
