Interesting thread, and I'll play.  My son was 5'11 135 as a frosh.  As a Sophomore now he's 5'11", or so, and about 142 - much to his consternation.

I do suspect he'll end up at 6'3 before it's all said and done. Will probably still be wirey. It may take until 19 or 20 to reach that.

I wonder what kind of metrics are used for projectibility?  I know they get stats from mom and dad. But how do they project kids?  My wife's 5'4. I'm 6'1. Grandad's were 5'11"ish. My moms side had very tall people. He's a year or so ahead of where I was at 16. I think he'll be 6'3", but I wonder if a scout would ever guest that given my wife's height?

I wonder if it will also be obvious that the kid got all of his athleticism from her.

The purpose? Several posters with 8th and 9th graders were asking when their sons should start with exposure. I was curious to see where they're coming from. Also for them to see where poster's kids who have been there and done it were at that point in time. My son was 5'11", 135 freshman year. He played 16u as a 14u eligible. He could play. But from an exposure standpoint the biggest exposure that year would have been he's damn skinny. He was at risk to pull a bone. Maybe coaches would have seen the potential of him filling out. But we waited until the following summer when he was 6', 160. Then they could see the potential of an upcoming junior filling out who had played a year of varsity shortstop.

By the way. My daughter was given the highgest APGAR score possible at birth. She became a model. .

OMG. Laughing crying face emoji thingy.  I'd forgotten even about that one.

I cant recall how big my son was, so i went back to PG's site and scrolled down to see what we listed back then when he played as a freshman. Took an inch off and 10 lbs.... 5'8" 145lbs

I think he is 5'11" and 170lbs now as a freshman in college. We didn't/dont worry about height etc, although in light of the theme above about bragging parents, we did have these bumper stickers on our cars:

Sorry, not for sale. You probably wouldn't really want it anyway.  I've been using it on various sports message boards (GAVSV, GNWA Underground, The Hive, NGYFA, AJC, Gainesville Times....) for 12+ years and I'm pretty sure there's at least a few folks that REALLY don't like me.

And since my secret identity hasn't been very secret for about 8 of those 12 years, it would be really hard for me to stop turning my head when somebody yells "Hey Bum!" to get my attention.

Coincidentally, my son's football number is 44.
