Outstanding...

A tremendous feat when you consider all that can go wrong in any given baseball game. To not lose a game in 80 spanning four years, with that many different players is amazing.

20Dad: I kind of wish son had the chance to play there too...

I haven't been back in about 10 years, but it wasn't even close to the same place then. I can't imagine what it's like now...

As far as baseball goes back then, we rarely carried winning streaks from Monday all the way to Friday of any given week.

i may be older than you, we had some decent teams in the early 70's. but never winning like this.

both my sons played here. the oldest (04) was on the first team to have a home playoff game in 20 yrs. so they kind of started a new thinking baseball wise.

he too is a lhp like your son.though a tad shorter at 5'8''. 2 yrs of a cc and was lucky enough to be drafted. you never know what can happen in a baseball life.
I never actually played for them. I was a Mike Grogran track / cross country guy.

Many of my friends played baseball, I tried to play both, but they wouldn't let me.

Back then they couldn't even play on the varsity field and ended at Leary, down by the South Mill Pond for most of their games. The varsity field was always flooded.

I was a 4:45 miler and 2:02 half miler, so they told me to stick with that over my 68mph sinker.

How did your LHP end up? Is he still playing? Mine is still kicking around, but I'm afraid to say more than that on this forum...

From the article:
Governor Lynch read two commendations during an assembly in front of the entire student body recognizing the accomplishments of the varsity baseball team — in the midst of an 81-game winning streak and the Division II playoffs — and the 27-member percussion ensemble that won the concert open class division at the Winter Guard International Percussion World Championships in April in Dayton, Ohio.

So here's my question 20dad...I've been told the catcher on the baseball team also plays the
Bock-a-da-bock in the percussion ensemble. Which group was he sitting with to receive the Governor's praise?

Ah yes...those bitmaps!

Where do I find them?

Usually somewhere where I can't quite see.

Terribly uncomfortable.

I dust those parts up with this stuff! Ends up looking like a Russian Tea Cake, but what relief!

I'd tweet you a picture to show you what I'm talking about, but my tweeting instructor, Rep. Weiner, is busy at some press conference... announcing his participation in releasing some type of new product.

"still very hard to fathom 4 yrs of NOT losing."

Four years? Try eleven 20dad! Over eleven actually!

Every Wendesday night, 7 o'clock at Consumption of the Bingo Maven parish on lucky number 77th Place in the city.

Don't believe me? Feast your eyes!

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the bingo caller is my third cousin, Paulette "Plush Puppy" Pisarczyk. We always win! Most all of the other players gave up eight or nine years ago.

She loves those stuffed animals!

Her and her husband manage a U-STOR-IT© near Midway Airport. They have one tenant! I'm happy to report that they're breaking even.

By the way...much success to the Clippers in their quest for the championship!
