High School teams for kids going to be sophomores? | High School Baseball Web

My son is 15 finishing freshman year 2012 grad. His high school only offers summer ball for juniors and seniors during the week days. His 15U summer team some of the kids will be juniors and play on H.S. teams during week. All the rest have programs in summer for sophomores during week. My son seems like only kid left out in cold during week. His summer coach is fantastic and I am sure will work with him during the week (which could end up being better than team practices--who knows

Is it unusal for high school not to offer summer baseball for sophomores?

Seems odd to me. Why wouldn't a HS coach want to help develop all kids with potential, regardless of what grade he's in.

In NJ many programs have senior and junior legion teams which takes care of all the players the coaches want to see.

Some towns baseball is not a priority sport. Sad as that sounds it is true.

In many states the High schools cannot be affiliated with summer teams
