For those who are subscribers to Baseball America, they started preseason conference ratings and have very nice comments and projections about A.J. #5 projected draft prospect in the one of the top conferences, potential Rhodes scholar and top returning pitcher for a highly talented Riverside team. Congratulations.

I'll have my opportunity to express my congratulations in person. As the Dad of UCR's first baseman, I had the privilege of watching AJ compete last year (and look forward to at least a repeat this year). He's everything advertised and more.
My son does get lonely when AJ pitches but when someone finally reaches first, the normal comment is "what the **** is he throwing".
AJ's a great teammate and you'll never find a more supportive family (and girl friend). The acorn never falls far from the tree.
HMom,
I wonder if 4 1/2 years ago (I think that's the right time) when things were a little uncertain for AJ if you could have imagined what the future would hold? Good for him!!! clap
Congratulations to the whole family!

Thanks again to all the well wishers and "fans".

itsoutahere ...

I should have known from the moniker that that was you. As I said before, if I weren't a pitcher's mom, I would love the moniker even more. And thank you very much for the kind words. We are looking forward to an amazing year for all our Highlanders ... and so looking forward to spending some of our not-so-warm So Cal evenings wrapped in our sleeping bags and blankets, sharing more great times with all our NorCal friends. Are you coming down for the Alumni game next week? (With your "bride", I hope.)

MrsB ...

The dream to be a "prospect" has always been a part of our son's make-up. It has not been a reality before, tho. He has ocassionally been considered a "player to watch" but the idea of actually being considered a "prospect" gives a whole new meaning to the term "whooppee" ...

Although we have never had any personal contact, family-to-family of course, and being a part of this website and reading your posts the past 1-1/2 years, I feel compelled to congratulate your son and family.

I am so greatful for posters like you, and all those who contribute something to this website that helps people like me prepare my son for future opportunities at the next level.

CONGRATULATIONS!
