The head baseball coach at Hillcrest, Chris Tovar, was named the new head baseball coach at Richardson High School. This was after Kyle Hope left for an assistant job at OBU.
Ironically Tovar is the brother of the Richardson Berkner head coach. Should be a good rivalry.
Anyone know much about Tovar from Hillcrest?

I played for Tovar back in the day at Hillcrest and have kept in touch with him and followed his program ever since. Let me assure you, this man is an EXCEPTIONAL baseball coach. Year after year, he found ways to compete at a high level by getting players with marginal talent to play above their heads. I'm not saying HHS didn't have its share of studs from time to time. But the talent pool at any DISD school is thin. He did wonders with what he had. He is an outstanding motivator whose pre-game speeches rival anything you'd see in a movie. The other positive is that, in an era where parents are over-coddling their children, Tovar is one of the few "old-school" guys who refuses to turn soft on his players. He accepts nothing but maximum effort - and if you're not giving it, you'll hear about it. Loudly. The man makes a huge difference in the lives of players he coaches - more so off the field than on it. Richardson is certainly not taking a step back with this hire. Well done.

FIrst of all the team I am referring to in the "they are what we thought they were" is rockwall heath.

I am on the hillcrest side and couldnt be more proud of them. They were one win away from becoming the first DISD team in 28 years to make the fourth round of the playoffs. (from what the two guys who brodcast Heath's games on 92.1 stated)

Thats a far cry from this post Grad?
It could be any number of reasons that Coach Tovar is leaving Hillcrest for what "HE" deems is a better opportunity for himself and his family. Could be something as simple as better pay, or he wants to coach in 5-A, or possibly coaching against his brother, etc. Who knows. Anyway I'm sure he weighed all his options, but it's usually nothing against the school he's leaving. This happens every year.
So hopefully your not discrediting his contribution to Hillcrest's success, just because he left your beloved high school, and your feelings are hurt.
Especially after the kind things that hillcrestex, someone who played for Tovar, said about him
