That looks like a pretty specific trainer, when (depending on age) more general strength and conditioning would give an athlete more return on time invested in training.

Agree with Matt 100%. IMO...there are numerous exercises that will develop rotational strength/power without spending $300 on a piece of equipment. Here is just one, using a med ball:
